Pioneered by Dr Paulo Malo, All-on-4® is a dental restoration treatment involving four implants in each jawbone to support an entire arch of teeth.

All-on-4® is an excellent alternative to dentures and is a long-term alternative to traditional, individual dental implants. You may be a candidate for All-on-4® if you’ve lost multiple teeth due to tooth decay, injury or advanced gum disease, among others.

The All-on-4® treatment is conducted in two stages. The first stage is surgery when the four implants are placed in each jawbone, two at the front and two angled at the back.

You will receive your provisional bridge of teeth within 24 hours of surgery, but often on the same day. You will wear your provisional bridge for three to six months while your bone fuses with the implants.

The second stage involves receiving your final set of long-lasting teeth, which have been crafted in Next Smile Australia Labs using Nobel Biocare components.

Introducing Dr Barry Phelan

Dr Barry Phelan has a keen interest in Implant Dentistry and has a passion for keeping up to date with the latest techniques in implantology. He has travelled worldwide to complete extensive studies with the opinion leaders in the field. His interest in implantology and his motivation to transform people’s lives with their smiles has led him to become an All-on-4® dental surgeon.

Dr Barry Phelan graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, in 2004 and worked in a private dental practice in London for a couple of years before seeking sunnier shores in Australia in 2006. He has a strong interest in restorative and implant dentistry and has pursued extensive further education and knowledge in these fields.

He is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the largest worldwide Implantology organisation, and the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr Barry Phelan is also a member of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. Dr Barry Phelan has placed close to 1,000 implants since 2013 and is thrilled by the results the All-on-4® dental implant treatment has provided for his patients.
